IT CAN BE HOT ON THE OUTSKIRTS

It was hot, the first half of this years’ August was truly hot. We went to the outskirts of Kaunas to Pažaislis Monastery to cool off and to think and to paint. The annual plain air painting session dedicated to Antanas Samuolis is taking place there each year. It is another take there at the Monastery than his Expressionism, which now is Lithuanian Expressionism too. There is the Baroque world in Pažaislis, submerged in the silence and the attentive care of the sisters who have taken us in for nearly two weeks.
